Seriously, I've been told time and time again to not worry about what other people think. Actually, I'm not worried about it. Yet I wonder what people think. I'm asking myself what runs through their minds and why the majority of them are too busy to look in other people's eyes. Just to try to understand what's in there. None hurts worst than he who hides his pain. I don't believe it when people say “we get what we deserve.” We don't all deserve what we go through. I just think some of us are good people who happen to live in a world where things are crazy and we have to bear with it. Still, we shouldn't be ashamed of what we've been through, but proud that we made it out.
In the novel, Things not Seen by Andrew Clements, it is written that sometimes we have to tell someone what it's like, if not we go nuts. I have to agree with that, it's important to have someone there. I also think, though, that we need a little bit of ourselves. We need to learn independence, because we're stronger than we think. Sometimes, we're able to surprise ourselves and others. The problem is most people are on the extreme side. Some can't contain themselves and they rely completely on other people to help them through. It can be an impossibility to be alone, confiding in everybody who talks to them or needing a significant other to fill a void. That last one is the worst, because when the person leaves, you find yourself with nothing and it's what leads to serious actions after a breakup. Others will try to make everything on their own, either too afraid to speak up for several reasons or it is in their belief that speaking makes no difference. If there's one thing that I've come to learn is that we need both to make up an emotional balance. There is hope for all of us, because inside ourselves, we have something that helps us stand up long after all our strength has depleted. Sometimes, it's when we've reached the bottom that we realize we can't give up, but we can get up. If it's true that the higher we are, the lower we can fall down, it only makes sense that when we've been really low, we find we can attain a better high every time. In the end, it's never worth giving up, because throughout a lifetime there will be beautiful moments, amazing people and a thousand reasons to build a glorious future.
